Search interest was very low for November in both the Upper and Lower Peninsula. Weather was also unseasonably warm. Weather is forecasted to be above normal again in December and about normal in January and February. This coupled with above normal forecasted precipitation means that January-mid March will likely be snow covered like a normal year. This will be a large respite from last year in terms of snow sports. Also, lakes should be covered with thick ice until mid or late March. However, as always averages do not tell the whole story but rather temperatures during and after episodes of precipitation.
Next year we will see if Upper Peninsula search interest continues to trend downward or whether it will stabilize at a lower level than the previous post-COVID-19 pandemic years.
