Due to computer issues, the February-April search interest forecast will be delayed or cancelled until next month.

I’m also going to work on my yearly updates for this model. These updates will be small. My updates are first to remove places with names where search interest is likely related to something other than places in Northern Michigan. These places are Greenland, Wolverine, and Free Soil. In fact, due to so much popular interest in the country of Greenland, search interest for the entire Upper Peninsula was pushed from 30 to over 50 for January. This is the type of thing I’d like to avoid.

I also plan on removing average temperature as a variable in the models. This is due to data availability from weather.gov. However, I already incorporate minimum temperature and maximum temperature so losing average temperature is not a big deal.

I also did some work on my other project Outdoor Recreation search interest and made some progress on this. However, I’d like to make some improvements to my LSTM models before I start providing frequent forecasts.
